This painting was inspired by a roadtrip down to Baja, California in Mexico. Some people view the desert as lifeless and barren. Water is sacred in the middle of the desert, but there is still plenty of life. The variety of vegetation (cacti), birds, & reptiles make their home in the colorful landscape. I love painting the desert and bringing out the contrast of colors, pinks, greens, and blues all in harmonious existence patiently awaiting the next rainfall.
